The only date on this 3 volume collection of old Ballads is 1723 by J Roberts in London. This must be a facsimile of that set. I would guess done in the late 19th century. Covers appear to be some quasi vellum. Has illustrations which are facsimiles of original copper plates. All three volumes are in very good condition, are octavos and look very nice.

Very nice copy of this first edition in a very good d/j. Signed and inscribed by Christensen with To David and Angela James Christensen in a beautiful hand to match these wonderful illustrations.

Very nice copy EXCEPT former owner wrote his name in pen on F.E.P. and then inanely added in pen ``rare book save``. Hope he was never given an original Van Gogh. Otherwise a very nice copy and the man did have some talent.
